Nathan Strom

Graduate Instructor
PhD Student, Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences
Nathan Strom is a PhD student in Hydrology at the University of Arizona. His research at the Landscape Evolution Observatory (LEO) Hillslope at Biosphere 2 explores how water moves through ecosystems and how patterns in vegetation can improve our understanding of plant water use and water movement across real-world landscapes.

Nathan enjoys helping others explore the hydrologic dynamics of ecosystems and building intuition through observation, connecting scientific ideas to natural processes visible in the landscape around us.

Outside of his research and teaching, he enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, gardening, and playing music.
