David Austin

I am endlessly curious about the night skies and natural wonders of Southern Arizona, and am one of the luckiest people on Earth to get to share that excitement for learning about them with others. I have over a decade of experience as an educator, across three different continents, with a focus on getting students outside of the classroom for hands-on, immersive learning. At Sky School, I aim to inspire every student--no matter their background, interests, or learning style--to feel connected to their environment through science, the arts, and any other medium that excites their curiosity. We want every student to leave Sky School knowing that they are capable and competent to practice science and seek the truth for themselves. When I’m not running Sky School programs, I enjoy playing ice hockey, mountain biking, trivia, and searching for water in the desert with my beloved pup, Sasha.
