I study the upper atmospheres of distant planets to understand how they interact with their stars. When a plenet orbits close to its star, intense starlight can heat up its atmosphere, causing gas to escape into space. I use computer models to explore how this atmospheric escape happens.Studying these processes helps us understand how planets evolve over time and whether they can remain habitable. The sky is full of worlds with their own stories, and I love uncovering the hidden clues that tell us how they've changed!
